Partnership

The Island Housing Trust works in partnership with the six island towns, the Dukes County Regional Housing Authority, member homeowners, and community members.

STRONG PARTNERS MAKE STRONG COMMUNITIES

Building community through developing and creating affordable homes and apartments for year-round residents is the mission of the Island Housing Trust. To build/renovate homes that meet our exacting standards, partnerships are critical.

DEVELOPER, STEWARD & FUNDRAISER

Island Housing Trust is a non-profit developer and steward of affordable housing, both rental and ownership. Through our work we have formed strong partnerships with private donors, local businesses, other non-profits, the six island towns and state agencies, land conservation organizations, and other housing organizations. The Island Housing Trust secures land, project funding, and working capital from individuals and foundations, as well as competitive grants from local and state agencies.

RENTAL MANAGEMENT & HOMEBUYER SERVICES

Dukes County Regional Housing Authority is a public agency that manages many Island Housing Trust rental homes and provides support and services to prospective homebuyers.
The Community Builders is a nonprofit housing organization that manages rental properties developed by Island Housing Trust.

BUILDER & LENDER

Habitat for Humanity of Martha’s Vineyard Chapter partners with the Island Housing Trust to build ownership housing on Island Housing Trust land. Habitat utilizes volunteer labor and donation of materials and money to build and rehabilitate affordable housing.
