REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS & QUALIFICATIONS

The Island Housing Trust endeavors to work with local general contractors to develop high quality affordable housing in a professional but non-bureaucratic way. Contractor section will be qualification-based and the Trust will not necessarily accept the lowest bid. The Trust can accept or reject any and all proposal(s) for any reason and can negotiate any aspect of an applicant’s proposal.

801 State Road, Aquinnah – July 11, 2017

The Island Housing Trust (“IHT”), a private non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation, hereby requests that interested general contractors (Builders) submit proposals to construct two single-family houses at 801 State Road (Map 9 Lot 146) in Aquinnah, Massachusetts (the “Property”) in accordance with the following terms and conditions. The IHT intends to sell these permanently affordable houses to residents earning low and moderate incomes.

The Island Housing Trust is a private non-profit and is not subject to public bidding and procurement laws.  IHT endeavors to work with local general contractors to develop high quality affordable housing in a professional but non-bureaucratic way.

General Contractor selection will be qualification-based and the IHT will not necessarily select the lowest bid.  The IHT can accept or reject any and all proposal(s) for any reason and can negotiate any aspect of an applicant’s proposal.

Interested Applicants are encouraged to attend an on-site briefing session on Friday, July 21st at 10:00am at 801 State Road in Aqunnah.  Registration to attend the briefing is required no later than Thursday, July 20th at 4:00 PM.  Questions and inquiries regarding the RFP will be answered at the on-site meeting or can be sent via email.  To register for the on-site briefing session, or for questions relating to the RFP, please contact the IHT Project Manager, Derrill Bazzy at [email protected].

Proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked “801 State Road” and hand delivered to the Vineyard Housing Office at 346 State Road in Vineyard Haven or sent by certified mail to the Project Manager, Island Housing Trust, P.O. Box 779, West Tisbury, MA 02575 and received no later than Thursday, August 29, 2017 at 4:00 P.M.

Scotts Grove Apartments – May 25, 2017

The Island Housing Trust (“IHT”), a private non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation, hereby requests that interested general contractors (Builders) submit proposals to construct a neighborhood of nine apartments at 565 Edgartown Road (Assessor Parcel Map 31 Lot 36) in West Tisbury, Massachusetts (the “Property”) in accordance with the following terms and conditions. The IHT intends to rent these apartments to residents earning low and moderate incomes.
