The nine year-round affordable rental apartments at Scott’s Grove in West Tisbury are now home to twenty island residents and their families. The neighborhood was completed and occupied in October of 2018, with the help of dedicated West Tisbury town officials, LDa Architects, Williams Building Company, Department of Housing and Community Development, MassHousing, Cape Light Compact, and our many generous donors.  The land previously given to the Town of West Tisbury by Susan Scott was ground leased to the Trust.  The nine apartments were designed as two clusters of duplexes facing each other with connecting decks and built in planters that allow for a sense of connection and interaction while still offering residents privacy. Each apartment is filled with natural light, energy efficient and built to last. The Trust plans to utilize this successful building design for future neighborhoods, including the upcoming Kuehn’s Way neighborhood of 20 apartments in Tisbury. The Trust has contracted the Dukes County Regional Housing Authority to provide rental and property management services.
